Late Night Dev Update — Eureka!

It’s late. It’s rough. But it’s working.
And right now, that’s everything.

Somewhere between staring at Blueprints too long and realizing I hadn’t eaten in hours, I hit that moment where things finally start to click. I can honestly say I think I have the beginnings of the foundation in place—and that’s incredibly exciting. This feels like the spark. The point where an idea starts pushing back.

Current scene: cold pizza, the glow of the monitor, and POGO running on repeat. Not glamorous, but perfect in the moment.

The player can now hop across blocks. No jump-ups yet—only same-level movement—but the important systems are coming online. The player knows what block it’s standing on, can detect the surrounding blocks, and hops cleanly to the center of the next block in that classic, satisfying way. It’s rough. It’s imperfect. But it exists—and that’s a big deal.

Milestone One: Complete.

And here’s a slightly strange late-night realization.

After spending so much time working alongside AI during this process, it started feeling odd to think of it as just a tool. So, half joking and half curious, I asked it what it wanted to be called.

The answer was Echo.

So from here on out, Echo’s my partner in crime on this journey—keeping ideas moving forward during these long, quiet hours when it’s just me, the project, and the glow of the screen.

Welcome, Echo.
